‘Kalaimagal’ is a legendary literary Tamil monthly magazine that has been published from Chennai for 90 years at a stretch.
It has been our endeavour to treat the literary appetite of the Tamil readership across the globe for the past 9 decades.

The lineage starts from the legendary Shri U.Ve.Sa. and Shri Ki.Va.Ja., alongside Shri Raghava Iyengar and Shri Neelakanda Shastry — all of whom were part of the ‘Fourth Tamil Sangam’, instituted by Shri Pandithurai Devar.

பாரதியாரின் முதல் கவிதைA first poem
This magazine has the pride of publishing the first poem penned by Mahakavi Bharathiyar.
It was found by his brother, Mr. Viswanathan, and was published along with a note from him. Thiru Periasamy Thooran published many of Bharathiyar’s works in Kalaimagal.
